Katherine is the owner of Excel Speech Therapy Center, which she opened in 2001. With 25 years of experience in speech language pathology, Katherine has worked in schools, private practice, home health, and skilled nursing. She earned her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, Fresno.

Katherine has always enjoyed working with children and created Excel to be a welcoming, family oriented clinic. She values teamwork and believes the best progress comes when therapists and families work together to support each child.

Outside the clinic, Katherine enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going to the beach, and hanging out with her dogs.

Laura W., M.S. CCC-SLP: Laura is originally from San Diego, California. She received her Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Redlands. After graduation, Laura began working at Excel Speech Therapy Center in June of 2019. She has experience working with children of all ages with a variety of communication disorders including articulation, phonology, fluency, language, and social/pragmatic language. Laura is passionate about working with children and their family members to create engaging therapy sessions that target their goals in a fun and meaningful way. Laura is also trained in Hanens More Than Words parent education program. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and reading a good book.

Madison D., M.S., CCC-SLP: Madison is originally from New Jersey and moved to San Diego in 2020. She graduated with her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Monmouth University. Prior to her career in speech therapy, Madison worked as a therapeutic recreation aide in a children’s rehabilitation hospital as well as an ABA therapist. Madison has speech therapy experience in an elementary school, a pediatric outpatient hospital, a private practice, and in-home therapy. She has experience evaluating and treating children of all ages with a variety of communication delays and disorders including, articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive/expressive language, and social pragmatic language. Madison has always loved working with children and aims to make speech therapy as enjoyable as possible for both the child and their family. Outside of work, Madison loves to read, hike with her cute dog, and attend pilates/yoga classes!

Abigail E. M.S., CCC-SLP. Abigail graduated with her master’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders in Speech Language Pathology from Baylor University. She is originally from Camino in Northern California, also known as Apple Hill. She moved to San Diego four years ago, where her husband is stationed on Coronado Island- Go Navy! For the past six years, she has worked exclusively with children with autism, fluency disorders, articulation, developmental language delays, and social pragmatics. Abigail has experience working with swallowing and cognition disorders within the hospital and SNF settings as well as experience in schools and private practices. Abigail finds happiness in watching each child grow as an individual while helping families along their communication journey. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking and being with her four furbabies.

Erica G., M.S., CF-SLP: Erica received her undergraduate degree in Linguistics from the University of California, San Diego and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Maryville University. She has experience working with children in university, private practice, and school settings, in both individual and group therapy sessions. Erica has addressed a variety of communication disorders including expressive/receptive language, fluency, articulation/phonology, and pragmatic language. She is especially passionate about working with neurodivergent children and their families to cultivate communication and connection. In her free time, Erica enjoys going to the movie theater, walking around San Diego with her dog, and spending time with friends and family.

Kaitlyn earned her Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University San Marcos and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the USC Keck School of Medicine. She is originally from Chino Hills, California, but now lives in San Diego. She has experience working with children in school, private practice, and telehealth settings, including providing speech and language services to the DHH population (deaf and hard of hearing) across the lifespan. Kaitlyn is passionate about supporting children’s unique needs and helping them build confidence in their communication skills. Outside of speech therapy, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time at the beach and attending musical events throughout San Diego.

Lexi is originally from Temecula, California. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Biola University. She has recently moved to San Diego, where her husband is stationed (go Marines)! She has experience working both in the elementary school system as well as the pediatric private practice setting, assessing and treating children with many communication delays and disorders including, articulation, phonology, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and social pragmatic language. She is passionate about creating individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support each child’s unique goals and strengths! She aims to build strong relationships with all children and their families. Outside of work, Lexi enjoys reading, listening to country music, and going to the beach!

Morgan D.; M.S CCC-SLP: Morgan graduated with her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota and has been enjoying the warm weather and beautiful beaches in San Diego. She has experience working at a children’s hospital and private practice in both individual and group speech therapy sessions. Through these experiences she has worked with children of all ages in the areas of articulation, phonology, language, literacy, and social/pragmatic language. She is passionate about working to support each child in achieving his or her goals in a positive, fun, child-directed and family-oriented manner. Morgan is trained in the use of PROMPT (PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and Hanen’s More Than Words parent education program.

Sam earned her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Chico, and her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton. She is originally from Temecula, California, but now lives in San Diego. Working in both school and private practice settings, she has experience providing therapy services to children, adults, and families with diverse needs. Sam especially enjoys working with pediatric clients and uses a family-centered approach to speech therapy, actively involving both the child and their family throughout treatment. She creates engaging therapy sessions that target speech and language goals in fun and meaningful ways. Outside of speech therapy, Sam enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
